Couple shot injured in Farah

FARAH CITY (Pajhwok) Unidentified gunmen shot and injured two health workers (husband and wife) in the capital of western Farah province on Monday, an official said.

Abdul Hai Sabawoon, provincial information and culture director, told Pajhwok Afghan News the couple came under attack from unknown armed men in the jurisdiction of the 2nd police district of Farah City this morning.

He said the injured, currently under treatment in hospital were out of danger.

According to Sabawoon, no arrest has been made in connection with the incident, but an investigation is underway.

Abdul Malik Sahil, a resident of Farah City, said the wife and husband served as midwife and nurse in Bakwa hospital..
