SAR-I-PUL (Pajhwok): Deputy Minister of Labour and Social Affairs Maulvi Mohammad Zahid Ahmadi has pledged extending vocational training process to district level.
He held out the promise while addressing a graduation ceremony of 60 youth in northern Sar-i-Pul province.
He said as many as 20,000 youth graduated from 52 vocational centres across the country every year.
He announced his ministry was striving to extend this process to the district level as well.
Valid work documents were also being given away to graduators and the documents were recognized inside and outside the country, he explained.
Meanwhile, Sar-i-Pul’s Labour and Social Affairs Director Samla Mohammad Mubasher also considered this programme effective in preventing the youth from going abroad and reducing unemployment rate in the country.
He said: “Tailoring and motorcycle repair are being taught to youth in the vocational centre of the province.”
Abdul Nasser, one of the graduates who learnt electrical repair works, said: "I studied theoretical and practical training for six months in the electrical repair, and now that I have graduated, I can find a job for myself in the labor market and thus help my family's economy.”
