KABUL (Pajhwok): Acting mines and petroleum minister has discussed the attraction of foreign investors and using the country’s available opportunities in this sector with a number of national businessmen in Uzbekistan.
In a statement, the Ministry of Mines and Petroleum (MoMP) wrote acting minister Mullah Hidayatullah Badri met a number of Afghan businessmen and Sheikh Abdul Ghaffar Bahr, Afghan ambassador to Tashkent, during his trip to Uzbekistan.
The two sides also discussed the situation of Afghanistan and Uzbekistan, their economic and trade ties and attracting foreign investors to invest in the mines of Afghanistan and using other available investment opportunities.
Afghan businessmen residing in Uzbekistan considered the current situation of Afghanistan conducive to investment and expressed their keen interest to invest in the country’s mines of coal, lead, copper and zinc.
Badri called Afghanistan a rich country in terms of mineral resources and added that the government was ready to offer all kinds of necessary facilities to investors and businessmen.
