2 women killed, as many children wounded in Nuristan accident

MEHTARLAM (Pajhwok): Two women died and two children were injured as a result of a traffic accident in eastern Nuristan province, an official said on Saturday.

Police spokesman Ghulam Rahman Haidari told Pajhwok Afghan News the accident took place when a vehicle plunged into a deep ravine in Markazi village of Kamdesh district on Friday shortly after 11pm.

He said two women were killed and two children were injured in the mishap.

The injured were evacuated to Kamdesh district health center for treatment.

The accident occurred due to a rundown condition of the road.
