IEA decree bans moonlighting

KABUL (Pajhwok): No official in the Islamic Emirate of Afghanistan (IEA) could hold two official positions at the same time, the Ministry of Justice (MoJ) announced on Thursday.

Citing a decree from IEA Supreme Leader Mawlavi Habatullah Akhundzada, the MoJ on its x.com wrote No official of the Islamic Emirate, whether low-ranking or high-ranking, can hold two official positions at the same time. Therefore, those who hold two positions must resign from one position.

This order was published in the Official Gazette No. 1432 on December 21, 2023, and is being republished for the purpose of public awareness, the ministry said.
