KABUL (Pajhwok): A hospital has been constructed at a cost of 300,000 US dollars and put into service in Qalat city, the capital of southern Zabul province, the Ministry of Public Health (MoPH) announced on Wednesday.
Funded by the United Nations High Commissioner for Refugees (UNHCR), the hospital was built on 2,640 square meter land in Babagak area of the provincial capital, MoPH wrote on its X handle.
The ministry said as many as 250,000 people will benefit from healthcare services at this hospital.
Separately, reconstruction work was initiated on a building at a cost of 19 million afghsnis at the provincial hospital of the same province.
The completion of the project will standardise health services in the province and would also resolve the existing challenges, the ministry concluded.
