17 Afghans released, repatriated from some African countries: MoFA

KABUL (Pajhwok): Seventeen Afghan nationals have been released from prisons in Egypt, Morocco, Libya, Sudan and Mauritania and repatriated to the country following the efforts of Afghan Embassy in Cairo, the capital of Egypt, a statement said on Saturday.

“In the past three months, 17 Afghans who were imprisoned for various reasons in Egypt, including Morocco, Libya, Sudan, and Mauritania, were released and repatriated to their country through the efforts of the Afghan Embassy in Cairo,” reads a statement from the Ministry of Foreign Affairs

The statement said that the process of releasing the prisoners was carried out in coordination with the Afghan Embassy in Cairo and the above mentioned countries.

The Ministry of Foreign Affairs wrote that the Afghan Embassy in Cairo is trying to continue its efforts to protect its citizens and safeguard their rights in the future as well.
