KABUL (Pajhwok): Sixty-nine Afghan refugees released from jails in Pakistan have returned to the country, a statement said on Wednesday.
The Ministry of Refugee and Repatriation (MoRR) wrote on its X account, the released Afghan refugees returned to the country on Tuesday.
Arrested in various Pakistani cities due to lack of legal documents for stay, the released Afghans returned to the country via Torkham crossing.
The Afghans were jailed from two to eight days and then were sent back to Afghanistan after getting humanitarian assistance, MoRR added.
Earlier on Tuesday, 26 Afghan nationals freed from Pakistani prisons returned to the country.
Recently, the incidents of arresting Afghan migrants had increased in Pakistan.
But no official sources of the caretaker government in Afghanistan shared any information about the number of Afghan migrants residing in Pakistan.
