Foreigners among 4 arrested in Afghanistan: MoI

KABUL (Pajhwok): Two British citizens, a Chinese-American and their Afghan colleague have been arrested on the bases of some considerations and efforts were underway to resolve the issue, an official said on Tuesday.

According to BBC, Peter Reynolds, 79, and his wife Barbie, 75 were arrested in central Bamyan province, now brought to the MoI of Afghanistan.

This couple had been involved in educational projects since 18 years in Afghanistan.

Mufti Abdul Mateen Qani, spokesperson for the Afghan Ministry of Interior, told Pajhwok Afghan News:

“The Britons who also hold Afghan national IDs and their passports and a Chinese-American and their Afghan colleague were arrested for some considerations.”

Efforts are underway to resolve the issue, Qani added.
