PESHAWAR (Pajhwok): Pakistan’s Ministry of Interior has asked the Khyber Pakhtunkhwa government to furnish the record of Afghan students in the province.
The ministry’s Foreign National Security Cell said it was updating its dashboard related to foreign nationals and needed the data of Afghan students.
In a letter, the ministry asked KP’s interior secretary to provide the details of Afghan students by March 27 (Thursday).
Pakistan’s federal government has set the March 31 deadline for all illegal foreigners, including Afghan migrants, to leave the country.
Many Afghan citizens have already been expelled from Islamabad and Rawalpindi and Islamabad, with the administration citing security concerns.
Hosting around 2.9 million Afghan refugees, Pakistan says those with valid visas could stay in the country for the period allowed.
