KABUL (Pajhwok): Afghan and Iranian transportation officials have held talks to address challenges and remove obstacles facing road transport companies of both countries.
The Iranian Embassy in Kabul, in a statement published on X, reported that Seyed Ali-Mohammad Mousavi, Deputy for International Affairs and Trade at Iran’s Ministry of Oil, met with Abdul Salam Haidari, Deputy of Road Transport at the Ministry of Transportation and Civil Aviation of the Islamic Emirate of Afghanistan (IEA).
The statement noted that Haidari, highlighting Iran’s role as Afghanistan’s primary trading partner, requested assistance and cooperation to resolve issues related to fuel supply for Afghan truck drivers.
Mousavi emphasized the importance of road transport in enhancing trade between the two countries and confirmed Iran’s readiness to address challenges faced by drivers on both sides, including fuel-related concerns.
Both sides also stressed their joint commitment to facilitating the movement of road transport vehicles, reducing truck waiting times at the shared border, and eliminating existing obstacles.
