15 killed in military helicopter crash in Peru

KABUL (Pajhwok): All 15 people on board a military helicopter have died after it crashed in the Arequipa region of southern Peru, a media report said on Tuesday.

Ilkha news agency reported the Mi-17 helicopter went down in the Arequipa region.

It quoted the Air Force as saying rescue teams had confirmed the deaths of four crew members and 11 passengers travelling aboard the aircraft.

An investigation has been launched to determine the cause of the accident.
