KABUL (Pajhwok): One man has been killed and two others have been wounded in an unexploded ordnance blast in Surkhrod district of eastern Nangarhar province, police said on Wednesday.
In a statement, the police headquarters said a man had transported a load of scrap metal from neighbouring Laghman province to the Jalalabad industrial park.
It said the man was unloading the scrap at a factory named “Muqaddas” when unexploded ordnance hidden in the load detonated on Tuesday.
The statement added the man died at the scene while two others sustained minor injuries.
Security forces rushed to the scene shortly after the incident and launched an investigation.
