IEA leader stresses Afghan unity, strong ties with the world in Eid message

KABUL (Pajhwok): In his Eid-ul-Fitr message, the Supreme Leader of the Islamic Emirate of Afghanistan (IEA), Sheikh Mullah Hibatullah Akhundzada, has emphasised the importance of Afghan unity and calling for positive relations with the world based on Islamic principles.

In his message, Akhundzada urged nations to respect the beliefs and values of the Afghan people and to refrain from interfering in Afghanistan’s internal affairs.

Zabihullah Mujahid, the IEA’s chief spokesperson, shared the Supreme Leader’s Eid-ul-Fitr message on his X account.

Akhundzada highlighted that Afghans must continue to protect the Islamic system, just as they had made significant sacrifices to establish it.

He urged the public to preserve the Islamic Sharia system, obey authorities and work towards consolidating the Islamic system while avoiding internal divisions.

“The dignity, success and honour of Muslims lie in their unity, brotherhood and solidarity,” he stated, stressing the need for further strengthening of unity and the avoidance of regional, linguistic and ethnic prejudices.

He noted that the re-establishment of the IEA had provided an opportunity for unity and reconciliation after years of conflict and war.

“Let us make good use of this opportunity, strengthen our unity and solidarity — which is the secret of our success and honour — and remain vigilant against the conspiracies of enemies. We must firmly defend our Islamic and Sharia system and our sovereignty in every arena,” he emphasised.

Akhundzada explained that the gatherings during Eid and other prayers serve as reminders of unity, solidarity and brotherhood. They convey the message that a Muslim should share in both the joys and sorrows of fellow Muslims.

While acknowledging religious progress, the Supreme Leader also called for greater focus on the country’s construction, development and rebuilding.

He urged both officials and citizens to balance religious duties with efforts towards national development.

He specifically pointed to the need for greater focus on education and the nurturing of youth.

Akhundzada directed officials to organise educational circles and reform meetings to guide the public and members of the IEA.

He also called for the construction of mosques in areas lacking them and for religious scholars to provide religious education to the people, including youth and children, in these mosques.

In his message, Akhundzada called on Afghans to assist returning refugees arriving from abroad, highlighting the importance of supporting their fellow countrymen in times of need.

The Supreme Leader reaffirmed the IEA’s desire for strong and positive relations with the Islamic world, based on Islamic brotherhood.

He also expressed a wish for constructive ties with other nations, grounded in Islamic principles.

He reiterated his call for all countries to respect the beliefs and values of the Afghan people and refrain from interfering in Afghanistan’s internal matters.

Akhundzada condemned any mistreatment or violations of the rights of Muslims worldwide, describing such acts as oppression.

He also explained that the Ministry of Vice and Virtue and Complaints (MoVVC) inspectors were working to reform society and reduce wrongdoing, which he identified as one of the key objectives of the Islamic system.
