Russia-based Afghan painter wins first place at Moscow art exhibition

 KABUL (Pajhwok): The artworks of Afghan painter Zabih Pikan, who resides in Russia, have won first place at the international exhibition “Colors of the World” in Moscow, according to the Ministry of Information and Culture.

The Ministry of Information and Culture (MoIC) said in a statement that the artworks of Zabih Pikan, an Afghan painter residing in Russia, received significant attention from visitors at the international exhibition “Colours of the World” in Moscow and were awarded first place by the organizers.

The ministry said in a statement that the exhibition was held with the support of the State Protocol Department of the Russian Ministry of Foreign Affairs and in cooperation with the Ministry of Culture of the Russian Federation. It is also part of the international “Intermuseum” festival for the second consecutive year.

According to the statement, Fazl-ul-Hadi Hamza, cultural attaché of the Embassy of Afghanistan in Moscow, participated in the exhibition of creative works by foreign diplomats titled “Colors of the World,” which was organized by the Russian Ministry of Foreign Affairs at the Tretyakov Gallery.

The ministry added that the exhibition will remain open to visitors for three days.

It stated that Zabih Pikan, an Afghan painter based in Russia, also displayed his artworks at the event, which received a positive response from visitors. His works were also selected as the best, earning first place from the exhibition organizers.
