3 killed, 5 injured in Kabul–Kandahar highway crashes

KABUL (Pajhwok): Three people have been killed and five others wounded in three separate traffic accidents on the Kabul–Kandahar highway, police officials said on Monday.

In a statement, the Maidan Wardak police headquarters said two traffic accidents occurred in the Haidarkhel and Tangi Dwa Lari areas of Sayedabad district along the Kabul–Kandahar highway.

The source added that the first accident took place in the Haidarkhel area between a cargo truck and a Corolla-type vehicle, resulting in one death and two injuries.

The statement said the second accident occurred in the Tangi Dwa Lari area between Mazda and Sarchi-type vehicles, leaving one person dead and two others injured.

Similarly, the media office of Ghazni police said in a statement that on Monday, in the Charli area of Gilan district along the Kabul–Kandahar highway, a passenger vehicle collided with a motorcycle.

The source added that in the incident, one motorcyclist was killed and another was injured.

Officials said negligence was identified as the cause of the accidents.
