KABUL (Pajhwok): Kazakhstan’s grain and flour exports to Afghanistan rose by 58 percent over the past eight months, increasing from 1.3 million tons to 2 million tons.

A report by the news network “Kazakhstan News” states: “The Ministry of Agriculture of Kazakhstan, citing the country’s national railway company, said the export growth is mainly driven by rising demand in Kazakhstan’s traditional markets across Central Asia and Afghanistan.”

According to the report, Kazakhstan’s grain and flour exports to Afghanistan during this period increased by 58 percent, from 1.3 million tons to 2 million tons.

Exports to Uzbekistan also rose by 38 percent, increasing from 3.6 million tons to 5 million tons. Shipments to Kyrgyzstan grew by 50 percent, from 312,000 tons to 474,000 tons, while exports to Turkmenistan increased by 44 percent, reaching 197,000 tons.

The Ministry of Agriculture of Kazakhstan added that the upward trend in freight transportation reflects strong demand for the country’s agricultural products, as well as the stable functioning of logistics corridors along southern export routes.
