KABUL (Pajhwok): Germany has deported 31 Afghan nationals to Afghanistan on a charter flight, with German authorities saying one of them had no criminal record.
According to Reuters, German Interior Minister Alexander Dobrindt said the individual had exhausted the asylum process and was issued a deportation order after his application was rejected.
He said the Afghan national had attempted to settle in another European country, but authorities found he had been living there illegally.
After being returned to Germany, he was deported to Afghanistan, Dobrindt added.
The minister said the remaining 30 deportees had previous criminal convictions.
According to reports, Germany has deported more than 200 Afghan nationals since resuming deportation flights to Afghanistan in 2024.
