KABUL (Pajhwok): The Ministry of Refugees and Repatriation (MoRR) says 880 Afghan refugees have been released from prisons in Pakistan and returned to Afghanistan through the Torkham and Spin Boldak border crossings.

In a statement issued on Thursday, the ministry said 713 of the returnees entered Afghanistan through Torkham, while the remaining 167 returned through Spin Boldak.

The statement said the group included families and individuals who had been detained for various reasons and were released after completing their sentences.

The ministry added that the returnees received necessary assistance before being transported to their respective areas.
