KABUL (Pajhwok): Kazakhstan’s exports of grain and flour to Afghanistan rose by 57 percent over the past 11 months, reaching 2.4 million tonnes, Kazakh media reported.
Kazinform, citing Kazakhstan’s Ministry of Agriculture, reported that the country exported a total of 13.9 million tonnes of grain and flour in grain-equivalent terms from September 2025 to July 2026, up 12.6 percent from 12.4 million tonnes during the same period last year.
The increase was mainly driven by stronger demand in Kazakhstan’s traditional export markets, particularly Central Asian countries and Afghanistan, the report said.
According to the report, Kazakhstan’s grain and flour exports to Uzbekistan increased by 36 percent to 5.8 million tonnes, while exports to Kyrgyzstan rose by 35 percent to 528,000 tonnes.
Exports to Afghanistan grew by 57 percent to 2.4 million tonnes, and those to Turkmenistan increased by 32 percent to 220,000 tonnes.
Kazakhstan’s Ministry of Agriculture said the figures reflected growing international demand for the country’s agricultural products.
It attributed the increase to improved export procedures, expanded transport infrastructure and stronger trade and economic cooperation with foreign partners.
The ministry also said 15.9 million tonnes of fodder had been prepared across Kazakhstan ahead of the winter season to meet livestock needs.
