KABUL (Pajhwok): Sheikh Shahabuddin Delawar, head of the Commission for Contact with Afghan Figures, says the commission is working to expand engagement with Afghan figures, address their concerns and facilitate their return to Afghanistan.
The commission said on X today that Waliullah Munawar had met with Delawar.
Munawar held several senior political and diplomatic positions under the previous government, including Afghanistan’s ambassador to Ukraine, Belgium and Qatar, representative to the European Union and first deputy head of the National Security Council.
Delawar welcomed Munawar’s return, saying Afghanistan is the common home of all Afghans and that their cooperation is important for the country’s reconstruction, development and stability.
He said the commission is working to strengthen contacts with Afghan figures, listen to their concerns and create conditions for their return.
Munawar expressed satisfaction over his return and thanked the commission for its efforts, according to the commission.
The meeting also discussed Afghanistan’s current situation, national interests, the return of Afghan figures, and the country’s reconstruction and development.
