KABUL (Pajhwok): At least nine people have been killed and dozens more wounded in Russian airstrikes on several parts of Ukraine, while Moscow says its forces targeted Ukrainian ships and industrial facilities, a media report said on Sunday.
Russian airstrikes on several Ukrainian regions on Saturday damaged residential buildings and infrastructure across the country, Reuters reported.
Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskyy said Russia had used nearly 500 drones to attack targets in Ukraine since Saturday morning.
The Kramatorsk City Council said Russian forces targeted civilian vehicles in three separate incidents over about 90 minutes, killing three people and injuring four others.
Local officials also said two people were killed in an attack on a shop in the city of Zvyahel. Two fuel tanks and a foreign-invested company were also targeted.
Meanwhile, the governor of the Zaporizhzhia region said two people were killed and 11 others injured in attacks on Zaporizhzhia city and surrounding areas. Officials in Kryvyi Rih also reported that two people were killed in overnight drone and missile attacks.
The Russian military said its forces targeted several Ukrainian industrial facilities, including the Zaporizhstal steel plant in Zaporizhzhia, the Interpipe Steel complex in Dnipro and several factories in Kryvyi Rih.
According to the report, nearly 40 people were also injured in attacks on the Black Sea port city of Odesa.
Russia’s Defence Ministry said its forces had continued attacks on Ukrainian ports, targeting one cargo ship in Odesa and two cargo ships in the port of Chornomorsk. Moscow claimed that one of the ships was carrying goods with military applications.
Meanwhile, the Ukrainian military said it had targeted one of Russia’s largest synthetic rubber plants in the city of Tolyatti in the Samara region, causing a fire.
Russian officials confirmed that Ukrainian drones had attacked industrial facilities in the Samara region but did not provide details about the damage. Tolyatti’s mayor also said several residential buildings had been damaged and one person had been injured.
