ZARANJ (PAN in southwestern Nimroz province, an official said on Saturday.
The robbers on motorcycle allegedly killed four people while they were on their way from Khashrod district to Puzakhaza area, Mohammad Hasham Noorzai, the district chief, told Pajhwok Afghan News.
He said the outlaws demanded cash from the victims and after a verbal spat they opened fire at the four and fled the scene, Noorzai said, adding the killers were later caught by the insurgents.
Mohammad Gul, an area resident, said the people complained to the Taliban about the crime. As a result, the fighters detained the killers, who admitted to shooting at a public trial.
Qari Yuosaf Ahmadi, a Taliban spokesman, said the robbers had killed four people and snatched their car. They were arrested and killed by the victims’ relatives in accordance with the Islamic law, he added.
