Rebels blown up by own bombs

FARAH CITY (PAN bomb planters were killed by their own explosives in the Pusht-i-Rod district of the western province of Farah, officials said on Monday.

The incident occurred on Sunday evening when the militants were planting a bomb on a road in the Karez Doghi area of the district, the governor’s spokesman, Abdul Rahmand Zhwandi, told Pajhwok Afghan News.

The two fighters were planning to target security personnel but the bombs went off prematurely, district chief Ghausiddin said. According to the Ministry of Interior, the bodies of the militants were still lying in the area.
