LASHKARGAH (PAN): Two suspected insurgents were killed by the explosives they were planting on a road in the southern province of Helmand, officials said on Wednesday.
One of the bombs exploded near a security checkpoint while another was defused in the Safyan area of the provincial capital Lashkargah, police spokesman, Syed Ahmad Farhang, told Pajhwok Afghan News.
Security officials found the dead bodies at the scene after the blast, police officer 2nd Lt. Nafas Khan said. Windowpanes of nearby houses were shattered by the blast. Civilians and security personnel were not harmed.
