LASHKARGAH (PAN): A dozen armed rebels were killed and another four were injured and some weapons seized by police during a string of operations in southern Helmand province over the past 24 hours, officials said on Sunday.
Nine militants were killed in Nadali and Marja districts, the Nadali district police chief 1st Lt. Omar Jan Haqmal told Pajhwok Afghan News.
Another three rebels were killed and four others injured in Baghranian village of Nahr-i-Saraj district, public order police official Abdul Sattar Noorzai said.
He said the operation was jointly conducted by police and foreign troops in compliance with the demand of area residents. Some weapons and ammunitions were also seized.
