LASHKARGAH (PAN): A tribal elder was killed during an armed clash in the Sangin district of southern Helmand province, an official said on Wednesday.
Haji Mirza Khan was killed in Sarwan Qala area on Tuesday night, when insurgents stormed police and foreign troop check-posts, police official, Col. Mohammad Ismail Hotak, told Pajhwok Afghan News.
Resident Asadullah Alizai claimed the tribal elder was intentionally shot dead by foreign troops. He said foreign soldiers dragged Khan from his vehicle and shot him to death in front of his driver and brother.
