Militant blown up by own bomb

MAIMANA (PAN): One suspected militant was killed and two others were wounded by a bomb they were planting beneath a bridge in northern Faryab province, an official said on Saturday.

The blast happened in the Chahar Shanba area of Ghormach district late on Friday night, the district’s administrative head, Niamatullah, told Pajhwok Afghan News.

Maj. Mohammad Raza, spokesman for the 209^th Shahin Military Corps, said security personnel, who frequently travel the Ghormach-Qesar road, were the target of the bomb.
