MAZAR-I-SHARIF (PAN-Mazar-i-Sharif highway in northern Samangan province, an official said on Thursday.
The head-on collision took place in the Ghazni Kak area of Hazrat Sultan district on Wednesday, Samangan traffic department official Col. Abdul Qadir Panjsheri told Pajhwok Afghan News.
The dead included five children, two women and two men, he said, adding among the injured were seven women, a child and a man.
Blaming the accident on reckless driving, the official said the injured had been taken to the civil hospital in Aibak, the provincial capital. Three critically injured were rushed to the civil hospital in Mazar-i-Sharif, he said.
