The EU, in a statement, assured it was working closely with its partners to monitor the situation and make sure that relief is provided.
“The EU Delegation, EU Heads of Mission in Kabul and the Head of Mission of Norway are deeply saddened by the loss of at least 300 lives as a result of the avalanches and landslides that occurred in the last few days in Kabul, Parwan, Panjshir, Kapisa, Badakhshan and Nuristan provinces,” the statement added.
The death toll from a series of avalanches and flash floods kept rising, with the bulk of deaths coming from central Panjshir province, where above 200 lost their lives, including women and children.
