Brother of Laghman lawmaker dead in blast

JALALABAD (Pajhwok): At least two people, including brother of a lawmaker from eastern Laghman, were killed and another wounded in a blast in Mehterlam Baba, the capital of eastern Laghman province, the governor’s spokesman said Saturday.

Sarhadi Zwak told Pajhwok Afghan News a bomb blast left two dead, including Naimat Ullah, brother of lawmaker Haji Naqibu Ullah, and his colleague injured.

Dr Fazlullah Mujadadi, acting governor of Laghman, strongly condemned the killing of innocent civilians and called it un-Islamic act. He directed security organs to investigate the incident thoroughly.

However, insurgents have not yet commented on the incident. It may be recalled that another brother of Haji Naqibullah had been killed in the same area few years back.
