Key Al Qaeda member killed in Kunar drone strike

ASADABAD (Pajhwok): A key Al Qaeda member and his two guards were killed in a drone strike in Ghaziabad district of eastern Kunar province, officials said on Friday.

The incident took place on Thursday night in Darin area, killing a foreign member of the Al Qaeda network and his two Afghan guards, provincial police chief Brig. Gen. Abdul Habib Syedkhel told Pajhwok Afghan News.

Previously, drones operated by foreign troops had targeted several militants in Kunar that borders Pakistan.
