6 rebels perished in airstrike, 5 suspects held in Nangrahar

JALALABAD (Pajhwok): Six insurgents have been killed during a US drone strike in the Haska Mena district of eastern Nanrahar province, an official said on Friday.

Attaullah Khogyani, the governor’s spokesman, told Pajhwok the strike took place in the Shikh Kando locality on Thursday.

He said the drone missile targeted a vehicle in which the insurgents were traveling. The vehicle was also destroyed in the attack.

Separately, police have arrested at least five suspect militants from the 5^th municipality district of Jalalabad, the provincial capital, and recovered five hand grenades from their possession.
