KANDAHAR CITY (Pajhwok): Two civilians have been killed and five others wounded in a roadside bombing in southern Kandahar province, an official said on Tuesday.
Samim Khpalwak, spokesman for the governor, said the blast occurred in Arghistan district late on Monday when a pick-up struck a roadside bomb.
A man and a woman were killed in the explosion, which left five others injured, he said, adding the wounded were evacuated to Mirwais Hospital in Kandahar City.
The official blamed the government’s armed opponents for planting roadside bombs, but there was no immediate reaction from any insurgent faction.
