JALALABAD (Pajhwok): A dozen Daesh — or Islamic State (IS) — rebels have been killed during an ongoing air-and-ground offensive in eastern Nangarhar province, the military said on Sunday.
The Selab Military Corps in the eastern zone said the 12 IS militants were killed during the operation codenamed (Hamza) by security forces in various districts of Nangarhar late on Saturday.
A statement from the corps said one machinegun was destroyed during airstrikes. Security personnel and civilians suffered no casualties, it added.
