JALALABAD (Pajhwok): Thirty-one Daesh rebels also known as Islamic State (IS) have been killed in Afghan and foreign forces airstrikes and ground offensive in eastern Nangarhar province, an official said on Monday.
Governor Spokesman Attaullah Khogyani said as part of the operation condenamed Hamza Afghan forces conducted raids in Nazyano and Achin districts.
Over 30 rebels, including foreigners, have been killed and one wounded during the operation
Militants’ telecommunication network was destroyed in the operation, he said.
On Sunday President Mohammad Ashraf Ghani said Daesh leader Shaikh Abdul Haseeb was killed in Afghanistan some days back.
