KABUL shadow governor for Kabul province, have been killed in security forces airstrike and ground offensive in central Maidan Wardak province, an official said on Friday.
Police spokesman Naqibullah Amini confirmed to Pajhwok Afghan News that Haqqani Network key member Hameedullah and his six colleagues were killed in security forces operation in the Narkh district on Thursday evening.
He said Hameedullah and six other rebels were involved in terrorist activities in Paghman district of Kabul and Narkh district of Maidan Wardak province.
Aminullah the resident of Arghandi area said Hameedullah was the resident of lower Arghandi and confirmed his killing in Thursday airstrike.
He said Hameedullah was the Taliban shadow district chief for Paghman district, but he was currently appointed as shadow governor of Kabul.
Aminullah did not give information about the killing of six more insurgents, but the resident of Narkh district who wished to go unnamed said two Taliban were killed in Narkh on Thursday evening. The slain Taliban hailed from Paghman district, he added.
