HERATCITY (PAN): One person died and five others were injured when the roof of their house caved in due to heavy rains in western Herat province, officials said on Saturday.
The incident happened on Friday night in Kashk Kohna district as a result of heavy rains, police spokesman, Col. Abdul Rauf Ahmadi, told Pajhwok Afghan News.
A man was killed and five others, including children and women, from the same family injured in the incident were taken hospital, Ahmadi said.
A doctor on duty at the Herat civil hospital, speaking on condition of anonymity, said the injured were in a stable condition.
When contacted, officials at the Afghan National Disaster Management Authority said they were unaware about the incident.
