GHAZNICITY(PAN): Intelligence operatives have detained six people on different charges in southern Ghazni province, an official said on Thursday.
The detainees included four alleged mine planters, an armed militant and a car-lifter, a National Directorate of Security (NDS) official confided to Pajhwok Afghan News.
Two of the four men, accused of planting roadside bombs against Afghan and foreign troops, were captured in Andar district and the two others in the Qala-i-Qazi area on the outskirts of provincial capital, Ghazni City.
Two motorcycles were also recovered from them, he said, adding a man who had stolen a car from the President’s Office three months ago was arrested in the Gadwal town of the province.
According to the NDS official, the car-lifter identified as Farid Ahmad was involved in robberies and other criminal cases.
The NDS office said a Taliban Hamidullah, accused of pulling out fingernails of captives, was arrested in Ghazni.
Police chief, Col. Zarawar Zahid, confirmed the arrests, saying police and intelligence officials had launched a joint search against criminals and fighters.
