ZARANJ (PAN): Three Afghan policemen have been arrested on the charge of drug trafficking in southwestern Nimroz province, an official said on Friday.
The officials were held with illicit drugs during an operation by counternarcotics police on the Zaranj-Dilaram highway late on Thursday, the provincial police chief said.
Sixty kilograms of heroin, 243 kilograms of hashish, two cars, a Kalashnikov rifle, a pistol and three satellite phone sets were seized from the detainees.
Brig. Gen. Abdul Jabbar Purdali told Pajhwok Afghan News the policemen were under investigation. Three weeks back, three border police officials were arrested with 430 kilograms of hashish in Kang district of the province.
