TIRINKOT (PAN): Three policemen were killed in a roadside bombing in the central province of Uruzgan, officials said on Monday.
The explosion occurred at 5pm on Sunday when a police vehicle struck a roadside bomb in the Tagab village of Charchino district.
Crime branch chief, Col. Gulab Khan, told Pajhwok Afghan News another two policemen were injured and their vehicle destroyed in the explosion.
The injured policemen were taken to hospital, but the police official had no information about their condition.
A Taliban spokesman, Qari Yousuf Ahmadi, claimed responsibility for the blast. Eight policemen suffered casualties in the explosion, he said.
Meanwhile, Taliban fighters attacked a convoy of foreign troops in Deh Rawood district. The attacker was killed in retaliatory fire, said district chief, Khalifa Sadaat.
Qari Yousuf Ahmadi, a rebel spokesman, said the assailant had no links to the Taliban.
