JALALABAD (PAN): Three policemen were killed during a bomb explosion in the eastern province of Nangarhar on Thursday, officials said.
Another six Police Academy trainers were wounded when the explosive device placed in their vehicle went off in Jalalabad, said the governor’s spokesman, Ahmad Zia Abdulzai.
Three dead bodies and six injured policemen had been brought to the Jalalabad Civil Hospital, Director of Public Health Dr. Baz Mohammad Sherzad told Pajhwok Afghan News.
But a doctor on duty put the number of injured at eight, saying two civilians were among them. However, he would say nothing about their condition.
As usual, the Taliban asserted responsibility for the attack, with their spokesman Zabihullah Mujahid claiming that six police officials had been killed in the bombing.
