Tirinkot airport comes under rocket attack

TIRIKNOT (PAN fighters fired a rocket at the Tirinkot airport in central Uruzgan province, causing no causalities, an official said on Saturday.

But a militant spokesman, Qari Yousaf Ahmadi, claimed the midnight rocket strike had caused heavy causalities to international forces.

For its part, International Security Assistance Force said the rockets landed in the airport but caused no damage.

The 205th Atal Military Corps commander, Gen. Zafar, confirmed the attack. He also said that no causalities resulted from the assault.
