3 women shot dead in east

ASADABAD (PAN in the eastern province of Kunar, officials said on Tuesday.

The women were killed late on Monday night when armed men entered their house in the Pashad area of Sarkano district, said the deputy police chief.

Brig. Gen. Abdul Saboor Allahyar told Pajhwok Afghan News male members of the family had no links with Afghan or foreign troops. Police have launched an investigation into the attack.

A Taliban spokesman, Zabihullah Mujahid, said that four women were killed in the attack. However, he denied the militants’ involvement.
