JALALABAD (PAN): A fuel tanker and a foreign forces’ tank caught fire in the eastern province of Nangarhar on Tuesday, a witness said.
The fire broke after an explosion inside a fuel tanker in the Shamshad area on the Ring Road the west of Jalalabad, the capital city of Nangarhar, this afternoon.
Witness Zabihullah told Pajhwok Afghan News a second explosion took place when a military vehicle of the International Security Assistance Force (ISAF) caught fire.
He had no idea of casualties in the incident, because NATO-led soldiers cordoned off the site after the blast, the witness added.
The governor’s spokesman, Ahmad Zia Abdulzai, confirmed that an ISAF tank caught fire in the area. The ISAF media office said the incident caused no casualties.
