PUL-I-ALAM (PAN): Unidentified gunmen shot dead an elderly couple in Mohammad Agha district of central Logar province, officials said on Wednesday.
The attackers killed the 85-year old Imam Shah, an amulet writer, and his spouse on Tuesday night in the Surkhabad area, the district chief said.
Abdul Hamid Hamid told Pajhwok Afghan News police had been sent to the area for investigation, said the Logar crime branch chief, Col. Mohammad Jan Abid.
The victim had no enmity with anyone, said a resident of the area, Habibullah, who believed Shah might have been killed because of his involvement in amulet writing.
