FARAHCITY (PAN): Suspected militants attacked a convoy of trucks shipping fuel for international troops in the western province of Farah, killing a driver and setting afire two trucks, an official said on Tuesday.
The attack took place on the Dilaram-Farah highway late on Monday, Bakwa district chief, Khalid, told Pajhwok Afghan News. He said a truck driver injured in the attack died on his way to hospital. Two others drivers were injured and two trucks loaded with supplies destined for NATO and US troops were torched, he said.
The attack came two days after a convoy of trucks carrying logistics supplies for NATO-led troops was attacked by Taliban in Dalaram district in neighbouring Nimroz province. A private guard was killed and two others were injured in the attack that happened on the Kandahar-Herat highway.
