SHARAN (PAN-led soldier was killed in a helicopter crash in the southeastern Paktika province on Thursday, the US military said.
The copter was destroyed following the crash in Nika district of the province near the Pakistan border, the media office on the Bagram base told Pajhwok Afghan News.
An investigation had been launched to determine the cause of the incident, which came three days after an ISAF helicopter crashed in western Herat province.
“An International Security Assistance Force servicemember died following a helicopter crash in eastern Afghanistan today,” the alliance said, adding the cause was currently unknown.
Meanwhile, the Taliban claimed shooting down the aircraft.
