TIRINKOT (PAN): Two tribal militia fighters were killed in a roadside bombing in the Chora district of central Uruzgan province on Friday, officials and residents said.
The militiamen were riding on a motorcycle in the Zarkoband area when the blast took place, deputy district police chief, Gran, told Pajhwok Afghan News.
He said the dead were militiamen who had no job at the police headquarters.
But the provincial police chief said the dead men were civilians. Col. Fazl Ahmad Sherzad added there was no local police or militia force in the area.
Resident Baryalai said the blast happened around 8am. The victims were heading toward the district bazaar when they came under attack, he said.
