QALA-I-NAW (PAN): Four insurgents were killed during a joint operation by Afghan and collation troops in northwestern Badghis province, officials said on Thursday.
The overnight operation was conducted in Chalank and Panirak areas of Bala Murghab district, Col. Abdul Jabbar, the provincial police chief, told Pajhwok Afghan News.
Four Taliban fighters were killed and a militiaman injured. Anwar-ul Haq, a resident of the area, said: “The operation continued until midnight.”
An Afghan National Army (ANA) soldier was also killed, he said. But the police chief denied the soldier’s death.
